Do you want to get your National Certificate in Radio Production (NQF Level 5) while gaining valuable real-world experience in our on-site working community radio station? Of course you do! We teach our future media legends in a real environment; giving you the confidence and skills to carve a path in media.
You will spend your mornings in lectures, unpacking the theory behind broadcasting and radio. Afternoons are spent in the studio, unleashing your creativity and coming up with the next best ideas for radio shows at our iLOVEmelville.LIVE online radio station. This is where you’ll learn how to solve real problems that no textbook can teach you!
At the end of the course, you will be qualified to work in public, commercial and community sectors. You will also know how to produce your own radio programmes. Our Radio Production course is perfect for entrepreneurs!
Upon completion of the Radio Production course, you will receive an NQF Level 5 qualification. Your national certificate is generic across a
multitude of fields which includes commercial, public and community service industries. At the end of the course, you will be able to produce your own radio programmes with content relevant to a broad spectrum of people. From making value judgements to packaging creative calls and actualising ideas, your qualification equips you to become an entrepreneur.
After completion you will be able to :
- research content and ideas for radio broadcasts;
- produce content for live and studio broadcasts;
- use studio, production audio and field recording equipment with ease;
- mix and edit programmes and items for transmission;
- operate within relevant legislative frameworks;
- build a reliable network of resources relevant to radio productions;
- pitch ideas for programmes and items for transmission;
- write scripts for programmes;
- present radio programmes/items (generate unit standard);
- successfully interview high-profile guests and content providers.

Work on active campaigns for brands while you gain on-the-job advertising experience in our academy.
